Dear Lucy:
I’ve been in Puerto Madryn. It’s a lovely place, small and peaceful. Puerto Madryn is a city in the province of Chubut in the Argentine Patagonia. It is the head town of the Viedma Department. It is protected by the Golfo Nuevo, which is formed by Península Valdés and Punta Ninfas. It is an important centre for tourists visiting the natural attractions of the Península Valdés and the coast. A new mall in the city center has helped tourism significantly, making Puerto Madryn a more attractive place for both international and domestic tourists visiting Patagonia. El Tehuelche Airport is located 10 km northwest of the downtown. Commercial flights from Buenos Aires, Ushuaia and other Argentinian cities are available. All this characteristics make Puerto Madryn an excellent city to live.
When I was there and visited all the extraordinary location, I loved it and I became thinking it would be good for me to live there. I though I would have a lot of possibilities related to sport activities, work, studies, etc.
As you know I like the nature and the marine biology, so I think I could go there to complete my studies after high school. I like under-water sports and I could make a diving course, to become a professional diver.
I have been investigating in Puerto Madryn city and I found a lot of possibilities related with jobs in the touristic area. I want to be a touristic guide. I want to show the whales and the birds and penguins and all the forest and fauna to all the foreigners.
But I have a big problem. I have the belief that if I stay there I’ll miss my family, my friends and the city, the population! Although, I would buy a huge house with an extra room, so when my friends and family go there for vacations, they’d stay with me; the rest of the year I’ll be in Madryn alone.
What shall I do!? What would you do in my place!? Help me, please! Give some piece of advice! Should I live there all by my self or not?
Write me soon, Jenny Thompson
